Grout is porous and absorbs dirt and spills, that’s the reason why it gets dirty easily. Many people have the perception that moldy and dirty grout is beyond hope, but with the right cleaning products and a little scrubbing, you can easily whiten and refresh your grimy grout!
Here are some ways that you can try to remove grout!
Method 1: White Vinegar
Wipe the grout with hot water to remove surface grime and dirt. Then mix water and white vinegar into a spray bottle using 1:1 ratio. Spray the solution on the grout and leave it for five to ten minutes. Then scrub away the grime and dirt with a toothbrush or small cleaning brush. For extra scrubbing power, you can use an electric toothbrush! Lastly, rinse thoroughly with hot water.
Method 2: Baking Soda
Mix one cup of water with two cups of baking soda together. Apply it to the grout and let it sit for overnight and scrub it with a nylon brush the next day. Rinse thoroughly with hot water when you’re done. This is exceptionally effective for stubborn grout.
Method 3: Magic Erasers
This is probably the easiest trick. Like what the name suggests, magic erasers are really magical! Take a piece of magic eraser, cut it into small pieces then slightly damp it and scrub it against the grout line. The magic eraser helps to loosen the dirt, thereafter you can use a cloth to wipe away the dirt and move on to the next line!
Method 4: Sandpaper
Similar to the magic erasers which might be a more effective method, you can try using sandpaper. Fold the sandpaper, using the crease edge, go back and forth along the grout line. Once done, rinse with hot water!
